Workshop Fee: $3,450 Includes the following:
Workshop: All formal and informal instruction, including: lectures, demonstrations in Egg Tempera, Under painting and glazing, “Alla Prima” painting with open-air demonstrations in oil and watercolor, guided museum and other tours, painting and cultural excursions, and daily individual instruction. Also included are materials: silverpoint stylus and grounded paper for silverpoint drawing. All materials are supplied for egg tempera including powdered pigments, supports pre-gessoed traditional panels for egg tempera. Included, also are all oil painting solvents and mediums. Pre-primed panels to experiment with Renaissance oil methods are included.
Accommodations: for seven nights at the beautiful Villa di Monte Solare (with private bath, and air conditioning), based on double occupancy) Also, accommodations for three nights at the spectacular Hotel del Senato in Old Rome (based on double occupancy) with air conditioning and its famous roof top terrace. A limited number of singles, superior doubles and suites available for an additional fee supplement.
Meals: Nine dinners, three lunches and daily breakfasts are included. Traditional Umbrian meals on a half board arrangement each day, that is, continental breakfast and incredible gourmet dinners at the Villa. Our finale festive dinner is included at our favorite restaurant near the American Academy.
Museum Admissions: All museum fees that are scheduled during the workshop.
Ground Transportation: Transportation from Fiumicino Airport in Rome to the Villa di Monte Solare if your flight arrives before 12 noon on Saturday, June 23, 2012 all private bus transportation during the workshop-scheduled excursions is included. See daily itinerary.
Umbria-Florence and Rome Handbook: A handbook prepared especially for our 2012 painting workshop. It will include travel information about excursions, phone numbers, email addresses and so on that will orient you to everything about our workshop. The handbook will be sent to you well before we travel.
A Workshop Painting Handbook with Bill’s studio notes that cover everything we present in our workshops will be made available to each participant during the 2012 Summer Workshop.
Please Note:
The 2012 painting workshop for painters and art enthusiast is strictly limited to 14 participants and a minimum of 10. We expect this workshop to be filled before December 15th.
*International Air Fare is not included. Early booking is advantageous for fare discounts.
All transportation on excursions that are part of the workshop is included. Transfer from airports to the Villa di Monte Solare is included providing your flight arrives to Fiumicino Airport before 12 noon on June 23, 2012.
*Beverages are not included except the wine tasting mentioned in the itinerary.
Payment Schedule:
$500 non-refundable deposit to reserve one place in the 2012 workshop.
